Hazlett Homes promotes lively communities through the provision of liveable, sustainable, and accessible homes.

Andrew Mills, founder of Hazlett Homes, is a physiotherapist turned developer. Upon his return from school in 2006 he was shocked by the lack of liveable, reasonably priced rental accommodation. This drove him to say “Hey! Why can’t I provide liveable, reasonably priced rentals?” So, he did. This started with “the Hazlett”, a project in which Andrew purchased a rundown building and gradually sweated through renovating apartments suite by suite. He eventually expanded this building to 8 rental units, mostly rented by friends and family.

Hazlett Homes was born.

Since 2006 Andrew has incrementally tackled larger and larger projects. He no longer focuses on rental property, but his  philosophy is the same. Improve the health and wellness of my community by providing liveable homes that promote active lifestyles, have family friendly layouts, and are priced reasonably.

LIVEABLE

Hazlett Homes develops properties in established neighborhoods. Homes are purposefully close to amenities including parks, restaurants and grocery stores. This promotes active forms of transportation, less time in the car, and more time with friends and family doing the things you actually want to do.

SUSTAINABLE

Our homes are infill developments, which make use of existing infrastructure including city services and utilities. Increased density allows for environmental costs to be spread out over more people; proximity to amenities in an urban setting reduces automobile exhaust. Homes that use efficient and intelligent floorplans maximize liveable space and minimize wasted area. Homes are built to BC Energy STEP code standards.

ACCESSIBLE

The cost of a home is tied to how much it costs to build that home. A big home on a large lot, costs more to build. It’s as simple as that. Hazlett Homes designs intelligently and efficiently. Don’t expect a 4000 square foot home on 10 acres. Expect smart, efficient, and family friendly floorplans that maximize the usable space you and family need. Developing in walkable neighborhoods means you can lower, or even eliminate, your automobile expenses.
